
Nigeria’s President Bola Tinubu has acknowledged that the government is well aware of the peculiarities of the economic hardship faced by Nigerians, particularly workers, during the 2025 International Workers’ Day celebration in Abuja.
Tinubu, represented by Minister of Labour and Employment, Muhammad Dingyadi, assured workers that the administration is committed to creating a conducive climate for the common good of all Nigerians.
He described workers as the “backbone of our society” and thanked them for showing patriotism and perseverance amidst economic challenges. The President promised to cushion the economic hardship faced by workers.

Tinubu noted that economic hardship is a global phenomenon but emphasized the government’s recognition of workers’ contributions and its commitment to fostering dialogue, promoting workers’ rights, and ensuring their voices are heard.
The President highlighted the challenges faced by workers, including rising costs of living, hunger, insecurity, unemployment, and pressure to provide for families. He emphasized the need to create an environment where every worker feels safe, valued, and empowered to contribute to the nation’s growth and prosperity.
