Benue residents took to the streets in protest of the recent attacks by suspected Fulani militia, which have claimed over 100 lives in the Yelewata community.
The protesters, mostly youths, converged on the Wurukum roundabout in Makurdi, blocking major highways and demanding immediate action from the government to end the bloodshed.
They carried placards with inscriptions like “A Cry For Help, Stop Benue Killings” and wore black attire with palm fronds.
Shortly after, they were dispersed by Police firing teargas.
