Former President of Nigeria Muhammadu Buhari has died in a London clinic. He was aged 82.
In a terse message on his X handle, his former media aide Garba Shehu made this known just days after his book on Buhari was launched. The post on X reads:
“The family of the former president has announced the passing on of the former president, Muhammadu Buhari, this afternoon in a clinic in London. May Allah accept him in Aljannatul Firdaus, Amin.”
Buhari was President of Nigeria between 2015 and 2023 and was also former military Head of State between 1983 and 1985.
The Federal Government has dispatched a high-powered delegation led by the Vice President Kashim Shettima to the UK to bring back his corpse to Nigeria for burial.
