The Kaduna State Police Command has arrested 13 suspects in the Kawo area of Kaduna following the murder of a naval officer, Lt. Commodore M. Buba, on Sunday. While their direct involvement in the officer’s murder is yet to be confirmed, the suspects were found armed with dangerous weapons during a police raid.

According to DSP Mansir Hassan, the Command’s Public Relations Officer, the late officer was attacked and stabbed in the chest with a knife at a bus stop near the Kawo flyover on Sunday morning. The incident occurred when the officer, a senior course student at the Armed Forces Command and Staff College in Jaji, stopped to change a flat tire. A suspected phone snatcher demanded his phone, and when refused, stabbed him.
The assailant was overpowered by bystanders and killed as he attempted to flee. The wounded officer was rushed to Manaal Hospital, where he was pronounced dead on arrival. His body was later taken to the 44 Army Reference Hospital in Kaduna.
The police are continuing their investigation to determine the involvement of the arrested suspects in the murder.
