Fulani Militia Attacks Another Plateau Community, Kills 27 Farmers

Gunmen suspected to be Fulani militia stormed Bindi-Jebbu in Tahoss Community, Riyom Local Government Area of Plateau State, killing at least 27 farmers, including men and women, in a brutal attack.

Several others were critically injured and rushed to hospitals, including Jos University Teaching Hospital (JUTH), Plateau Hospital, and other medical facilities in the state.

The National President of Berom Youth Moulders (BYM), Dalyop Solomon, confirmed the attack to journalists in Jos, blaming Fulani militia for the violence. According to Solomon, the assailants invaded the community on Monday, opening fire indiscriminately and burning houses.

“Twenty-seven people were killed, and many others were injured. We have moved the bodies to different hospitals while awaiting burial arrangements,” he said.

AriseTV reports that spokespersons for Operation Safe Haven (OPSH), Major Samson Zhakom, and the Plateau State Police Command, DSP Alabo Alfred, had not responded to calls or text messages seeking comment.
