In a late-night ambush in Katsina State, suspected bandits killed eight individuals and set two patrol vehicles on fire after attacking operatives of the local C-Watch security outfit. The incident occurred in Dandume Local Government Area.
According to a report by security analyst Zagazola Makama, the violence began when gunmen invaded a village near Dandume around midnight on Friday. The report states that C-Watch operatives responded to a distress call and successfully rescued eight villagers who had sustained gunshot injuries during the initial assault.
However, the situation turned catastrophic as the security team returned from their mission. The operatives reportedly drove into an ambush laid by the bandits, who opened fire. The attack resulted in the deaths of the eight rescued victims and the burning of two C-Watch patrol vehicles.
