Nollywood actress and filmmaker Iyabo Ojo has narrated her encounter with the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) over her daughter’s wedding videos where guests were seen spraying Naira and other currencies.
In a candid statement, Iyabo Ojo revealed she was clueless about the law and got a crash course from the EFCC. “I thought only abuse or mutilation of the Naira was an offence,” she confessed.
The actress commended the EFCC officials for their kindness and promised to spread the word about the Naira-spraying no-no. “Let’s prioritize caution and avoid any potential problems,” she advised.
EFCC seems to be cracking down on Naira spraying, but some observers are wondering if they’re playing favorites as similar videos of other celebrities abusing currency notes have circulated without consequences.
