Nentawe Yilwatda, Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and former university lecturer, is set to succeed Abdullahi Ganduje as Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC). Ganduje recently resigned, citing health concerns, amid growing speculation about the 2027 presidential elections.
Sources indicate Yilwatda’s nomination followed a late-night meeting in Abuja between President Bola Tinubu and APC governors.
Yilwatda’s diverse background includes experience as an engineering lecturer at the Federal University of Agriculture in Makurdi and Resident Electoral Commissioner with INEC from 2017 to 2021, overseeing elections in Benue, Anambra, Osun, Rivers, and Cross River states.
